We Are 4 is a unique and personal response to hunger and the growing unhoused unemployment. This effort is entirely organized and maintained through the hard work of volunteers and generous individuals who provide the vast majority of our financial support.
We Are 4 of Maryland is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization (Tax-ID 83-1054178) dedicated to providing low-income and unhoused of Maryland with nutritious meals, clothing, and growing to assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets. Your generosity helps us provide two main programs dedicated to assisting the unhoused; a meals program and Hire the Unhoused employment program.
We Are 4 will operate a meal program every other Saturday through-out Maryland. The on-going meal program began in March 2018 as one woman’s response to the hunger she witnessed among the low-income and unhoused. The hire the unhoused began in January 2020 (see below).
We Are 4, Corporate is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the unhoused of Maryland by providing work opportunities. All funding is received from generous donors. We are in donations to fund our 2025 work program. With your help, we are able to NURTURE those that are unhoused without restrictions.

The 2024 Neighborhood Grant is an opportunity for organizations with total annual operating budgets of $500,000 or less to receive $2,500 to $10,000 in funding to carry out community-centered projects that are resident-driven, connect community members and create impact in Central Maryland. Eligible organizations can apply to implement projects that:
This year, we received support from Constellation, who believes in giving back to the community—and know that a few dollars can go a long way. Their $500 support in our community clean-up was wisely used to benefit all.
WeAre4 has provided over 3100 bag lunches to the unhoused over the last 7 years. On 6 April 2024, WeAre4, started year 4 of our hire-the-unhoused program after our winter break. We started with picking up trash in our local Brooklyn Park community.
I am as well as my unhoused friends are super excited to re-start the program. Upon completion of the day’s work, looking around at the progress made, brings them pride. The difference they make is right in front of them. “We just want to work; you don’t know how much this mean to me” was the comment I receive again and again.
There are a lot of barriers that our people experience to go from being unhoused and panhandling to full-time work. This is a way for our unhoused friends to earn money and make a difference in the community. We will be out the first & third (sometime fifth) Saturday (April - October), weather permitting, and I ask that you check out the pictures, come join us and please make a donation to allow us to continue this program.
I am also collecting donations to purchase a 15-passenger van to provide our services to clean surrounding areas as well.
WeAre4 provides active working opportunities April – October, however, to date, we support other nonprofits to continue our contribution to our community and make a positive impact. We are supporting the “Women Empowering Women in Need of Support organization (WEWINS) by:
Volunteer: volunteering our time and skills. We assist with events, administrative tasks, fundraising, or directly engage with the community.
Spread Awareness: Use our voice to raise awareness for their nonprofit causes. Share their stories, events, and achievements on social media or through word of mouth. The more people know about their work, the greater the impact they can make.
Attend Fundraising Events: Participate in fundraising events organized by WEWINS such Snack and Paint (20 paint canvasses provided). Your presence and support can make a significant difference.
In-Kind Donations: clothing(6 hats, 72 pairs of gloves, 5 blankets and collected pants/shirts), food(over 240 hot dogs and chips to feed the unhoused), and supplies such as 30 personal sized bottles of lotion, 50 personal sized hand sanitizer, 30 deodorant, 30 body wash, 50 chap Stix, 75 female menstrual packs, 25 dental hygiene kits, 52 individual body wipes, or other resources such as outreach brochure for their area of effort.
Collaborated with WEWINS: during their Self-love networking event and “Trauma amongst young adults and how it has become ignored” speaking series to learn from each other’s experiences.
We believe every small effort counts, and our support can help other nonprofits continue their valuable work in the community!

On 7 October 2024, the United Way of Central Maryland in partnership with the Baltimore Ravens hosted this year's Caw to Action Day of Service. This event was designed to bring Ravens fans together to volunteer in the community. WeAre4 participated in the 2024 Caw to Action event with the United Way of Central Maryland and created the POTEE Street Garden. Check out the pic.

Friends of Farring Baybrook Park hosted a Take Me out to the Fields at Farring Baybrook park Community Picnic. WeAre4 supported this event with volunteers that served food and provided clean-up. We also provided plates, and utensils.
This year we partnered with the Baltimore City Police Department, Southern District and the Mayor's Office of Homeless Services in the engagement efforts in the Brooklyn Homes Community.
First:
To purchase ($176 to rent 12 pax van for 4 hours) a vehicle to transport homeless workers to areas in need of our assistance not serviced by the city, such as Brooklyn, and South Baltimore areas. In February 2023, the Baltimore Mayor kicked off the Clean Corps Initiative. The Clean Corps neighborhoods are Arlington, Broadway East, Coldstream Homestead Montebello, Darley Park, Druid Heights, East Baltimore Midway, Four by Four, Greenspring, Carrollton Ridge, Druid Heights, Fayette Street Outreach, Franklin Square, Harlem Park, Penn North, Sandtown Winchester, Upton, and Westport.
Second:
Affordable Housing
The Recovery Oasis initiative is a partnership between Baltimore city Youth Architectural Design Collaborative (BCYADC) and WeAre4 non-profits. The initiative will provide affordable and sustainable first-time home buying and rental opportunities to men and women transforming from homeless to homebound while providing an environment conductive to sustaining lifelong recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.

Make a Gift
As a nonprofit that does not accept government assistance, we rely on YOU to fund our programs aimed at helping the homeless of Maryland living in the streets.
YOUR IMPACT
Your generous donation helps provide a meal to our homeless and will fund our future initiative to provide our homeless friends opportunities into the workforce by enabling access to local businesses to learn skills needed to regain jobs, housing, and self-confidence. By design, we accept no government assistance so we can do everything we can to help the homeless become self-sufficient. Your donation will directly help people find jobs and leave the streets with confidence for good.
